CharleyB is dead on' building kits perticularly the difficult ones is time consuming and one the most basic tools you'll need is patience along with loving a challenge. without find something else to occupy your time!
And I do find a certain pride when getting these kinds of answers after posting a picture of one of my accomplishment's. Let you in on a little trick...Painting all those glossy black parts a lighter color before assembly made that 120 ton crane go together so much easier. still it took about a week.

I have to agree all the RTR is nice and for the price i guess Atlas Trainman has about the best thing going. But i have to go with some of the others on here about the kits. I like to build kits it gives me something to do and i seem to think more of the rolling stock when i spend hours putting it together.
