Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - Green_Elite_Cab - 01-26-2012 Well, I'd probably buy any commuter cars I think I need (they are rare and expensive, $1000 wouldn't even be enough for a single rushour train at the current prices). If not that, I'd seek a Prescision Scale "Old Rivets GG1" in Conrail Blue. My third choice would be a new layout with Catenary paid for. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - cn nutbar - 01-26-2012 Like an old wiseman said :hey: :" you can never have enough brass" Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - santafewillie - 01-28-2012 It's a toss-up for me. Do I purchase a handful of craftsman structure kits or do I convert the layout and 65+ engines to DCC? Let's go for $2000! willie Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - MountainMan - 01-28-2012 santafewillie Wrote:It's a toss-up for me. First, you buy the kits...then you tell your wife that you need more funds in order to upgrade your layout to the new standard of operation. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - railohio - 01-30-2012 Does a new iMac to browse Big Blue with count? Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - Brakie - 01-30-2012 I could spend a $1000 easy since I'm retiring my older BB locomotives (except my SW1500s) and upgrading my motive power fleet..Most of these locomotives are 30 years old and well used and its time to put them in storage and no it wasn't a easy decision to make. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - nkp_174 - 01-31-2012 A pair of On3 2-8-2s...MMI's K-28s The 2-8-2s would have their tenders junked (details & trucks harvested), the locomotive details stripped, and correct Oahu Railway details added for OR&L #60 and #70. If another $800 was included, I'd add two more 2-8-2s for OR&L #80 & #90. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - teejay - 01-31-2012 Enough scratch building materials to last a lifetime . Terry Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - train_guy - 02-19-2012 I would pay some one to build&setup my benchwork and lighting for me.I have all the engines and rolling stock i need, with the exception of a couple of pieces. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - FiatFan - 02-19-2012 Instead of DCC as I mentioned earlier, I might spend it on more track or equipment for the back yard trains. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - Iron Goat - 03-08-2012 You're too late!!! I just spent it on HOn3 locomotives. Bob Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - Lester Perry - 03-09-2012 Make my train shed bigger, I have run out of space. 400 square feet is to small. Re: If you had a $1000.00 spare - BR60103 - 03-09-2012 I'd probably buy enough Kadee couplers to finish converting my stock. |
