Huddersfield 2012. Photos from a UK train show. - Blackcloud Railways - 01-24-2012 The 2012 Pennine MRS show in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, UK was held over the weekend of 21st and 22nd January. There was a fair selection of layouts in N, HO, OO9, OO, On30 and 1:50 scales. MAIN HALL N scale Bodmin, Ian Hubbert. 1930's GWR in Cornwall. Burnham on Sea, Alastair Knox. Somerset and Dorset Railway's seaside terminus. Waitawhile, Graham Smith. Based on the scenery of the Settle and Carlisle Railway. Pennine MRS layout under construction. Rugged mountain scenery. HO scale Oak Ridge Canyon, George Woolnough. American steam and diesels. OO scale Millfield Road, Roger Nichols. BR (ER) goods trains in green diesel days. Museum of Transport, Roy Brogden. Road, rail, air and sea transport all together in one model. 1:50 scale California Levels, David Atkinson. The unusual choice of scale gives an 18 inch gauge railway using 9mm gauge with a mixture of modified, kit and scratch built models using HOe and N scale chassis. Based on the lead mining area around Middleton in Teesdale though the railway itself is fictional. BASEMENT OO scale Grime Street, Mark Casson. Trams in urban scenery. Connected Layouts Committee, sections of the original CRM modular layout including a welcome return to the fold by Mossley Terrace on loan from its new owner, Nick Tozer, plus the debut outing for Brian Mosby's Chapel Halt module. On30 scale Zorba's Mine, Baz Ward. A fictional narrow gauge railway set in Crete featuring some unusual locos and stock. OO9 scale Unfortunately I did not realise that I had not taken any stills of the OO9 microlayouts until I got home but I do have some video of them which has been added below as an external (Youtube) link. Video of C.R and N. Whitehouse's OO9 layouts. Re: Huddersfield 2012. Photos from a UK train show. - faraway - 01-24-2012 Wonderful, you have a very high standard on mode railroad layouts in UK. Re: Huddersfield 2012. Photos from a UK train show. - Ralph - 01-24-2012 Thanks for all of the photos of excellent modeling. I especially like those green countrysides with long stretches of track, but the industrial city and port scenes are all inspirational as well! Ralph Re: Huddersfield 2012.
