One of the more forgotten tools of the hobby, Scales. Sometimes you want the the best balance or just enough weight to have a car roll just right, or even need to make sure your engines are heavy enough to drag your stock.

On the left we have a Dymo scale that can be found in the mail/shipping/crafts section in walmart for around $20. The scale works good, though I've lost my calibrated weights to test the accuracy of it. Believe it goes up to 3lb.

On the right is a cooking scale, many different makes and models of these and can be found anywhere for less than $10, and even just a buck at thrift stores. Goes up to 1lb. 8-)

I've got one of those from Harbor freight, well really it belongs to my wife. I just commandeer it form time to time , like when I was testing the weight limit on my DY draw bridge project.

I also use a small postal scale for setting the weight on freight cars.

Do the HF scales work okay? Do they seem accurate? I've been thinking one would be handy to have around.

I'll put it like this, HF tools do work, it's just how long will they. Icon_lol

So far so good on the scale, had it about 4 or 5 years.
