Oddball way of transporting grain - steinjr - 04-19-2012 I quite by chance stumbled upon this youtube video showing a part of Oslo city history I had not known about - the "grain tram" (korntrikken), which was en electric tram used to transport grain from the big harbor elevator to several flour mills in Oslo from 1918 until 1967: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grBhzXDDq8s Smile, Stein Re: Oddball way of transporting grain - Ralph - 04-19-2012 That was a cool video! I especially liked the simple but effective way the driver switched the points so he could veer off on a siding. The tram looks like a trolley/boxcar. Nifty way to shift single car loads! Ralph |
