Black & whites! - Selector - 12-15-2008 Greetings, fellow B&W, and I hope sepia, lovers. If you don't mind, I enjoy black and white, but have found sepia to be fun as well. Let me know if this image is unwelcome here, please. I'd rather not ruffle anyone's feathers. A Trix Mike from the NYC trundles across a 160' combination truss bridge towing some coal hoppers. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - doctorwayne - 12-15-2008 I don't think any feathers will be ruffled by that picture, Crandell. We all like good modelling and good photos. Wayne Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - LynnB - 12-15-2008 Great pics , I even got a couple ideas, black and white always brings out the details. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - cnw1961 - 12-16-2008 Great idea to start this thread. I love those black and whites. When your modeling old times, black & whites look so much more real and authentic and it shows by the great pics you all posted. Wayne, this accident is one of the best modeling I have ever seen. Mark, I love that lil’ scene in your picture. These are two of my favorite pics of my SoCal switching layout. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - Trucklover - 12-16-2008 Kurt your So-Cal Layout was beautiful, i cant member, did you take it down? Anyways, i look forward to seeing your Miami Switching Layout progress, i know it will be just as great if not greater then the So-Cal Layout Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - railroader9731 - 12-16-2008 Neat pics guys. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - cnw1961 - 12-16-2008 Josh, I still have the So-Cal layout. I stored it away for the time being, until I know what to do with it. I did not have the heart to dismantle it. I think I will take it out occasionly to take some pictures. Re: Watch out! Thats good to hear Kurt, i dont think i would have the heart to take it apart either, so much hard and great work put into it Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - kettlestack - 12-16-2008 Gee ! terrific modelling displayed here and there's a charm about b/w pics. Sometimes b/w makes a scene look more real that a colour pic. A slight tint also helps the look of authenticity. I use a free ('coz I'm a Scotsman) program called "PhotoFilter" which lets you see the effects of using any of Kodak,Vokin and Hoya filters on any picture. This is one of my favourite photos )tinted with a Cokin 001 yellow filter. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - Running Bear - 12-17-2008 Here's a couple of mine. Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - doctorwayne - 12-17-2008 Nice to see you here, Jeffrey. Wayne Re: Watch out! Black & whites! - Running Bear - 12-17-2008 Thank you Wayne. I recognized you work the moment I saw it.
