The light blue in the prototype photos looks a lot like Model Master "Duck Egg Blue" .
I like the paint scheme. Thumbsup Thumbsup

What a coincidence, my grandson was over last night and we were watching a video of the New York Cross Harbor RR, you have done a great job on modeling the ALCO's.

Was it the Hi-Iron one? I have that, but would be interested to know if there are any others.

Thanks everyone for the kind words although I can't take all the credit, I searched New York Cross Harbor in ebay one day and someone was selling a NYCH Alco S-1, I was bidding on it but lost the bid so I contacted him, sent him my locomotives and he installed the decoders (I hate messing with wiring) and made the decals. Hes finishing up the decoder on my Kato NW2 (#59) and should have it back in a few weeks. When I get it back ill post it, and im working on a small module of 2nd avenue and 41st street "the corner building" and will post any progress I make.

Re: New York Cross Harbor RR Alcos - Mike Kieran - 07-30-2012

I grew up a block away from the Brooklyn Army Terminal, so the nostalgia is overwhelming. The corner of 41st Street and Second Avenue is no longer running. The track from the South Brooklyn Railway interchange to First Avenue is paved over. If you need pictures of the area, let me know. I still live in Brooklyn (Bensonhurst).

Re: New York Cross Harbor RR Alcos - e-paw - 07-30-2012

Although not an Alco,,it's an SW..I have a pic for you of sister engine #59.

I grew up in Bayonne, not to far from the car float bridge they used in Jersey city. I have a few pics of that also as it appeared in the early 90's. The damaged portion of the float bridge has been repaired and is now functional.

I know, i wish they would still use that stretch of track. I plan on modeling the early 90s so that corner would still have been fully functional.

Where/when was that picture taken? and #59 is in the works, there was some problems with the Kato drive and LokSound decoder. I should hopefully have it back in a few weeks.

Re: New York Cross Harbor RR Alcos - e-paw - 07-30-2012

I took that pic in the mid 90's just off of Pulaski st in Bayonne NJ. I'm sorry to say that it's the only picture of # 59 that I have.
