Audible Scenery - jwb - 08-23-2012

I just installed a custom ITTC sound module for an SP talking detector (ITTC web site http://ittproducts.com/ ). You can find a page with similar recorded detector messages at http://www.trainweb.org/eastbayrails/sounds.html I was able to download the wav file and send it to ITTC, who loaded it onto one of their standard sound modules at no extra charge. It's activated by a Dallee Electronics block occupancy detector, which in turn activates a Dallee momentary contact module, so that the detector is activated only once when the train passes.

It's now occurring to me that I could change eras by getting one of the UP detector sounds off the page above and change the module playing the sound with a DPDT switch. I believe Reinhard has an ITTC sound module on his layout as well. Among the other sounds that could well be interesting would be clickety-clack rail sounds and flange squeal from one of his modules -- I don't believe this is usually available with DCC sound.

It would be nice if they had slow speed or switching flange squeals ???
