I've only just got around to thinking about an 'N' diorama so it will be a while before I have anything to post but I'm sure looking forward to seeing more pictures of your excellent modelling Worship .

Mike, before you and Errol break your arms patting each other on the back allow me to put in my 2 cents worth. From where I set your modeling efforts are both awesome you two are (in my book) an even match.

It's a good thing I'm not the jealous type cause it would not take much to be jealous of the ability that you two have. :mrgreen:

Hi Larry and Jonathon and you too Sumpter, it's good to see you old buddies again. I echo Mike's last post. All the regulars from 2guys are great modellers and so many of them are in here too. I'm beginning to feel at home (who's turn is it for buying the beers? Cheers ).
I was wondering how many members in here are fans of the good old days of railroading like the late 1800's to 1920's?
I just sent off for an 'N' Atlas 2-6-0 woodburner of circa 1880's. Heck! now I have to dream up a diorama and build it before the end of this month before it gets delivered. (Sigh) I must be some kind of massochist! 357
I'm not sure I should post pictures of my previous projects in this site as many of you have seen them before.
I'm hoping to see some scratchbuilt timber built structures and scale drawings for them in 'N' not just for me but my wife is also a fan of that stuff.

Thanks, Errol! That does look like a good layout. Sorry for not posting in this thread for awhile!

I'm still modelling in British 00 (similar to our HO), mainly because I've gone so far with this scale & gauge that it's hard to turn back, especially after investing so much money in this gauge. I guess I could sell off some of my 00 locos and make the conversion as many people have.

I've made four 00 (or HO) layouts over the years:

-- a 4x6' which I began 9 years ago as my "starter" layout (it's now scrapped)
-- a 1x4' switching layout (also scrapped)
-- I've now replaced the first 4x6' with another but better 4x6' layout (basically finished but always tweaking it)
-- and I've also replaced the other switching layout with another but larger 15" wide by 6' long switching layout (the track is laid but I'm still adding the scenery).

Good on you Rob. In a way I can imagine why you opted for OO (I assume it's British outline). It broadens the mind when one takes an interest in something other than what you tend to see everyday in real life (commonplace stuff). It's why I opted for American outline. It has given me years of pleasure and a great deal of knowledge. Due to space limitations I have most often modelled in 'N'ormal gauge. I have a "TimeSaver" switching layout in HO but simply can't get around to wiring it (yet).
I'd love to see pics of your switching layout and hear of your progress with the scenery.

Yes, I do model British outline. I'm a bit of an "Anglo-phile" (I even married a Brit!) and have visited the UK several times during the past 17 years. So, while I did not grow up watching British steam trains, etc., I've had a fascination with them over the years. I think a comedian once made a comment that the best memories are of things you never experienced! Having said that, I'd still be interested in building a layout depicting a local Canadian railway scene sometime down the road.
