Workers Sitting Down figures? - tomustang - 01-15-2009

preferably workers who are sitting in a car/truck, maybe with their arms out operating, anyone have a link to a website or a set they bought before?

If you can find standing workers who are otherwise suitable, a little surgery with your X-Acto knife can change them into sitting figures pretty quickly. Icon_twisted Misngth

I have a WS set with a couple of seated workmen; there were also a few crates for them to sit on.

I'm like the good Dr.
I trimm standing LPB's to fit in my cars and trucks and passenger cars.
Since no one is really going to see them, I use the cheap Life-Like Scene- Masters. They are cheap, easy to cut(made of a rubbery palstic).

If cutting up LPB's gives you the willies, Prieser, and Noch do make sitting LPB's. Preiser does make a set of truck drivers.

I found an ebay store from Hong Kong I believe called WE Honest. at one time they had a large bag of lpb's very very cheap. The guy said in the description "lousy paint jobs" Misngth

You've shown me that before and I've used that method with my dump truck, the problem now is I have forklifts and it wouldn't look good with a guy in there just as a torso and head Sad

I think that Preiser may have forklift drivers - here's a LINK. Click on the part number to see a picture. Set 10037 Crane Personnel, set 10038 Truck Drivers, set 14009 Truckers, or set 14128 Crane Personnel might work. I didn't see any forklift drivers, though. 35

Rather than go through that long list (which includes figures in various scales) select your scale, then Preiser, then "Workers" - it cuts it down to just six pages.

If you can find one of those old Revell HO scale auto carrier trucks or moving vans, the under-sized driver that was included with the kit could be suitable. Mine was chrome plated, but I put him through re-hab and got a decent driver for a Model T, and little or no surgery was required.

If they are sitting down though, are they still workers? Goldth

That's the debate the boss and I are having. 35

That shot there, I dunno, but when I look at it, it reminds me of an impending mob hit. Goldth

There are many companies that make sitting LPB's. How ever I found that an average 6' person will not fit in the average model car/trucks without surgery or reshaping. HO not being to bad, but N-Scale, forget it as they don''t make the cars/trucks to true scale.

To reshape an LPB without surgery, find one that is close and then put it in boiling water, this will soften them up enough to reshape. However, leave them in to long and they will look as if they had some kind of contraction fit! Wallbang 35

Prieser painted figures are expensive because each figure is hand painted individually. If you need a bunch of them, you can get a package of 120 unpainted figures for about $20.00-$25.00 (If I remember correctly).

Yeah, but, that's a good thing. At least the vehicles will still be where you last put them. Face it, LPB's actually driving??? frightening!!! Eek

I believe Atlas has a set of seated figures.

Re: Workers Sitting Down figures? - jmarksbery - 01-16-2009

Simply do a search for HO sitting people at Walthers or the internet and you will find tons of them. Priesers for unpainted are 120 for $30.00 average. But you can find them cheaper. 2285_
