I'm back! - Russ Bellinis - 12-02-2012 I had knee replacement surgery on Oct 12, and was unable to sit at my computer desk since until the last couple of days due to lack of leg room. I can finally bend my knee enough to get back on my computer. I'm still doing physical therapy 3 days a week and doing exercises twice daily between p.t. visits. I can now bend my knee 101 degrees, but I need to get to get to 110 degrees to comfortably go up and down stairs. Re: I'm back! - dwight77 - 12-02-2012 Hi Russ: Keep up the good work. I had my right knee replaced on July 17th. This was my second go round...having had my left knee done in 2005. All is working well, still need to build up some strength for stairs...although being in Florida I don't worry about that too much. But walking, sitting, sleeping, driving a car......all is back to normal. I got my knee back to 116* as that is what it was before the surgery. So keep working.....it is a pain.....I can attest to that. But I also know, I do not have all the pain and limitations I had prior to the surgery. dwight77 Re: I'm back! - faraway - 12-02-2012 I wish you a good recovery! Re: I'm back! - FCIN - 12-03-2012 Wondered where you'd been lately Russ. Glad to see you back. My wife had knee surgery a few years ago and still has problems getting around, although she does quite well (that sounds encouraging doesn't it?). She didn't have a knee replacement, but may be looking at that in the next year or so. Get out and run around the house a few times. You'll get it going again! Re: I'm back! - ezdays - 12-03-2012 Russ, Welcome back, and good luck with that knee. I had knee surgery the day before yours, just that it wasn't a replacement, so I got off relatively easy. From what I'm told, it takes a while getting use to and healing, but after that, you'll be pleased with the difference it makes. Just take it easy and don't push. Re: I'm back! - Tyson Rayles - 12-03-2012 Welcome back and best wishes for a speedy recover! Re: I'm back! - Brakie - 12-04-2012 Welcome back and best wishes for a fast recovery. Re: I'm back! - Russ Bellinis - 12-04-2012 Thanks guys. Re: I'm back! - Steamtrains - 12-04-2012 Good to see you're back...!!! Just take it easy and take your time. The knees bear most of your weight, so take some good "sit-down" time....Like when running trains..!! Re: I'm back! - Ralph - 12-04-2012 Only 9 degrees more to go! Keep up the good work. Glad you could log back on with us. |
