Model Railroad Hobbyist Lite edition now available - Russ Bellinis - 01-20-2009

For anybody on dial up, the home page for the Model Railroad Hobbyist Magazine now has a lite edition that will download 19 MB instead of 78MB. It has lower quality graphics and less embedded rich media, but still uses the Adobe pdf format. The videos and extra rich media are now embedded in the web browser on the site rather than being downloaded in the magazine. All of the content is still there, just in a smaller MB package to make downloading easier and quicker.

Nice. Is there a direct link to the lite page, or is it a selection off the home page?

When you go to the home page there are 2 boxes. The top box is marked "Premium Edition," the lower box is marked "Lite Edition." Just click on the one that fits your browser. They recommend the Lite edition for Mac and Linux users, but Trucklover reports that he had no problem downloading and reading the premium edition on his Mac.
