Troy Depot - Route 29 - 06-12-2013

In Troy, Alabama, the old Atlantic Coast Line freight depot still stands along the tracks. While it is no longer used by the railroad, it has been used by others including the local TV station. I decided to try and build a model of it to use on a T-Trak module.

Of course, the fact that there is no kit available for this station would be a problem for some. But, for those of us who remember Matthyro's cereal board structures - no problem!

The walls are cut out of a shoebox. I drew the shapes for the walls and roof of the depot in PowerPoint and filled them with textures from CG Textures. I printed them on cardstock, cut them out, and glued them to the shoebox walls.

No. I've seen earlier pictures from when the railroad used the station that didn't have them. I think they were added by one of the more recent tenants.

This is an in-progress picture. The box used to carry my wife's shoes.
