P&LE car documents wanted - modelsof1900 - 06-17-2013
I have a friend living in Carlisle, Pa and his dad was an employed of P&LE. My friend lives in memory to his dad passed away a longer time already. He owns a few railroad memorabilia owned and collected before by his dad and now his wife told that he would like to own a historic freight car model that I should build to him - as a souvenir that gives him a remembering to his German friend.
So I think that I should build such a P&LE freight car model preferred from wood – thus after an old time original. However I do not have one source nether sketches or drawings nor pictures.
Can you help, please? Who owns or know old time sources with pictures, sketches or drawings of PLE cars, boxcars, gons, ore cars or other types also? Alternatively I would like to get also your info about existing HO-scale railroad models (with wood sheeting please) which I could modify to an "original" P&LE car. Making new old time decals is not a problem and superdetailing is that what I like to do. You know my love in model building.
I would be lucky if you can give me a few ideas or hints of sources. Thank you very much for your help!

Ray, on your links I have found a well usable caboose photos; and thanks for links to F&C and Yahoo group.
I habe written also to P&LE Historical Society and hope to get an answer yet. I think that such a model project could be reality in next time - and you will read about it, of course.
