Lettering on LVRR Camelbacks - twilight - 06-20-2013 I am not sure if this is being posted in the right location, sorry if it is not! But I was hoping to gain information on what color the lettering and numbering was on a Lehigh Valley RR's Camelback. The decals I have found so far for their steam locomotives say "silver", but I can't find a color photo of a real one or a model that some one has done to prove that. Anyone know if silver is the choice of color or was the lettering and numbering white? My camelback locomotive will be a Mikado or N1 on the LV. Mark Re: Lettering on LVRR Camelbacks - e-paw - 06-20-2013 The silver does sound right.. I do remember reading about "aluminum" paint used by the LV, I'll ask the LV guru, Rich over at the ARHS this weekend for you. Re: Lettering on LVRR Camelbacks - twilight - 06-21-2013 Thanks e-paw, I'll keep an eye out for your reply. Mark Re: Lettering on LVRR Camelbacks - e-paw - 06-22-2013 And the answer is -------------------------------------------Yes, silver is fine. The LV used an aluminum leaf to letter there steam locos. So silver should be fine. Re: Lettering on LVRR Camelbacks - twilight - 06-22-2013 Thanks, e-paw. You came through, again Mark |
