Australian Bushfires - Bob C - 02-09-2009

Have been watching coverage on the Web of the wildfires in Victoria and NSW, Australia. The severity of the destruction and the great loss of life due to bushfires magnified by drought and high temperatures (and possible instances of ARSON !!) brings concern for members, families and friends Down Under. Here's prayers and hopes for the safety of all in this dire situation. Any news from you lot will be appreciated. Bob C

I agree, I was just on msn with a good buddy of mine Stewart, he's 200 km from the fires.

I've been seeing reports about that on the news. Be safe down there!

Re: Australian Bushfires - MountainMan - 02-09-2009

The truly bad part about the Australian situation is the probability that the fires were set deliberately, according to recent news.

Re: Australian Bushfires - Sumpter250 - 02-10-2009

The Australian Prime Minister has already publicly used the phrase "Mass murders".
The saddest part is the people trying to get away from the fire, caught and killed by it. My thoughts and prayers are with those in harms way.

Arson!! I even hate the word!! To think that someone actually started that fire intentionally makes me very angry. Having studied arson detection as part of a fire science course, I know how easy it is to start an arson fire and how diificult it is to prove it in court. I say, once captured the person(s) ought to be roasted on a spit!!
Arsonist(s) on the barbie. Curse

heres a link to the CNN storie on an arson arrest in Australia http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/02/13/australia.bushfire/index.html im glad they found someone.they is nothing that could explainwhy a person would PURPOSELY do this.they are freaking menaces to society and should be put in jail for life,or be forced to die the same way as the people he killed (in my opinion the latter, the first was to appease the hippies Misngth )--josh

Peace is not a problem...so it needs no resolution. Goldth
As to the artillery...it depends on which end you're on...the shooting, or the receiving end.... Nope

It gets worse, the arsonist has also been charged with owning child pornography. He may not last long.
