Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-20-2015 <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://bigbluetrains.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4798&p=151114#p151114">viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4798&p=151114#p151114</a><!-- l --> Also I tried to PM Don and was told he didn't exist! Re: Missing thread - ezdays - 05-20-2015 Mike, I logged on as my alter-ego and sent ezdays a PM. (I also cc'd you on it). I also went to your thread and was able to see any page I selected. I'd suggest that you go and clear your browser history and cache and see if that doesn't make a change. Let me know what happens.... Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-20-2015 I deleted my browser history and removed the bookmark when to a search engine and set up a new bookmark but still no thread. Did you clear your cache? That has more to do with it than the history. It depends on what browser you're using how you delete it, but I'm using Firefox and I can go to the "history" menu at the top of the screen, then select "clear recent history" and I can also select "cookies", "cache" and a few other things. I usually leave cookies alone, and only select "history" and "cache" to clear. Your bookmark only gets you to Big Blue and shouldn't affect anything but as a link to here. Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-22-2015 Don I use IE and Firefox and can't find a option to clear the cache on either one. Re: Missing thread - ezdays - 05-22-2015 Mike, I just updated this thread that tells you all about history, cookies and cache and how to clear them on either browser. I use the latest version of Firefox and it's a bit different from older versions, so I just added steps for those newer ones. Here's the link: http://bigbluetrains.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=6650 Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-22-2015 When I click on that link I get this message: ' "No posts exist inside this topic for the selected time frame. Let's try this, rather than trying to view that thread, here's the info for clearing the cache in both IE and older and newer versions of Firefox. Let me know if this does or does not make a difference. One other thing you might try is to log out, then back in again. There are three things we normally ask you to do when you’re having problems logging on to Big Blue, or having some difficulty doing something here. We suggest that you try clearing the following:
Occasionally, things on Big Blue appear as not to update. Your, “cache” or, “temporary internet files” on your computer may be sending you old data and not updating from our web site. When strange things happen, like not being able to stay logged on, or not seeing the latest updated threads, we normally suggest clearing, "History", Temporary Internet Files (cache)" and "Cookies and Website data". The names are different with some browsers, but the functions are the same. This will mean that you will lose all your log-in info from all the sites that you've been logged onto, but doing this may solve your problem. For Firefox browsers:
To clear your History, Temporary Internet Files (Cache) and/or Cookies on older versions of Firefox:
To clear your History, Temporary Internet Files (Cache) and/or Cookies on newer versions of Firefox:
For IE browsers:
To clear your History, Cache and/or Cookies:
For Chrome browsers:

Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-23-2015 O.K. did that, still have the same problem. Re: Missing thread - ngauger - 05-24-2015 Ok.... Maybe it's the board itself??? Go to the bottom of this page and click on "Delete all board cookies" at the bottom right, next to the time. Then sign out of big blue, then sign back in... Maybe you just need to reintroduce yourself to the software Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-24-2015 O.K. tried that still no luck. Seems like I can't access anything from before the last crash but everything afterwards is no problem. Re: Missing thread - n0rthcornice - 05-24-2015 Check time frame setting under UCP / Board Prefs / Edit Display Options: Display posts from previous days: Mine is set for "All Posts", but there are other options. Perhaps this setting was inadvertently changed. Re: Missing thread - ezdays - 05-24-2015 Don't know, at this point I'm out of ideas here. Packey will be over later today and I'll talk to him and see if he has any ideas about what's going on here. It doesn't make sense, but we won't stop trying, so hang in there..... Re: Missing thread - Tyson Rayles - 05-25-2015 n0rthcornice did that still no luck. Basically anything posted to this forum by anybody before the last forum crash is now gone for me but everything after the crash is fine. Re: Missing thread - ngauger - 05-25-2015 Just checking around and I found a help site. Try copying this location: <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://bigbluetrains.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4798">viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4798</a><!-- l --> then log out and go to that link. See if you can see the thread when you are not logged in. That's page 1 of that thread you are referencing. We're still working on this, we didn't forget you |
