First post - Bill Kamery - 12-03-2015

Greetings, everyone. This is my obligatory first posting on the Big Blue forum. Many years ago I was a denizen of the old Gauge forum, I remember very well the many wonderful layouts created by Shamus. I don't remember my user name on the Gauge, but some of you may remember "The Box" thread(s), which I started.

Having said that, I still consider myself pretty much a newbie. Until now, I have always lacking in one or more of the following: time, money, space or permission. Now that I've retired, divorces, and have moved into a condo in Kearney, NE, with a humongous family room in the basement, I think I've about run out of excuses.

Hi Bill.
This box?

That's the one (or at least one version of it). Did you make the drawing?

Welcome back Bill! Welcome

Greetings from a transplanted Husker.

Re: First post - Sumpter250 - 12-04-2015

I think there are a couple of "welcome Backs" in these: Wink 357

We've tried to keep much of the spirit of the "Old Gauge" alive and well, so Big Blue should feel pretty comfortable.
Always good to see someone who remembers the "old days", coming back here.

Welcome back to the Big Blue

Re: First post - Charlie B - 12-04-2015

Welcome Bill, we have been waiting for you. Goldth
I have been around here since 2008, and have met a few members in person. Spent the last years of work running a shortline and now run my own plywood central in extreme Southeast Ohio. You have a lot of reading to catch up on. Hope to see you around often.
Charlie

Sorry, but I captured the image when it was new, way back when.
My box never looked the same after the cat got at it.

Re: First post - Bill Kamery - 12-09-2015

Thanks, all, for the 'welcome backs'.

BR60103 and Sumpter250, I'm amazed that there are still pictures of The Box floating around!

FiatFan - I, too, was a transplanted Husker in Iowa. I moved to Kearney when I retired after 23 years at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids.

Have a question - I have some photos I took of the Union Pacific's Bailey Yard in North Platte, NE, as well as some of their old loco's they brought to North Platte's Rail Fest a few years ago. Assuming I can figure out how, where the best place to them???

Hi Bill,

We're not that rigid about where stuff is posted but we do have a US Rails subforum that would be appropriate. You could also post the in the Shutterbug subforum which hs lots of pictures or in the Upper Berth (which is anything about trains).
