Handlaid Track - hirailer - 05-23-2016

I have been building my own track for years and I was wondering how many other here are doing the same.

Your crossings look great! I am just now learning how to hand lay turnouts. It is not as hard as I thought it would be. My brother lent me some Fast Tracks tools -- point and frog forming tools which make it much easier to build the turnouts. I am waiting on an order of rail to make some more. I find it very rewarding to lay my own track and switches. Plus the turnouts operate much smoother!

Beautiful "Curved Diamonds", and the texture, color and detail in the surroundings is well executed, too. Haven't "built" any track since the early '70s (when I last had a permanent layout)...I admire your skill in that enterprise. Bob C
