Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Brakie - 08-18-2016 Watch a hard working Alco and its crew go about their work in a snow storm.. If you have earphones use 'em and crank the volume and enjoy pure Alco sounds. There's two interesting scenes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_kiT4BteJI Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - FiatFan - 08-18-2016 Fun to watch. Thanks for posting. Tom Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Brakie - 08-19-2016 Tom, Did you notice the makeshift snow blower? I thought that was cool. Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - FiatFan - 08-19-2016 Yes, I did. It reminded me of something I did when I got my first leaf blower back in the 90s. Kids thought I was nuts but we had a light dusting of snow and I used the leaf blower to clean the sidewalk. Tom Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - lajry - 08-19-2016 Modeling LAJ Ry & ATSF ALCO S-2 & S-4 ALCOs noticed their stacks were not the stock ones that come w/ other ALCO switchers. Likewise the ACJ S-2 is not stock. Did they put their own stacks on or did that S-2 some from another RR? Ditto the whistle is not stock ALCO. Do you know what kind it is? Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Brakie - 08-19-2016 Andy,The 107 is a ex-Fairport Painesville & Eastern 107 nee NW 2045 nee NKP 45 so,the stack could have been replaced at some point over the years. Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Charlie B - 08-20-2016 Bud Bruegermann is the conductor in this video. Charlie Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Brakie - 08-21-2016 Charlie,That's one short line I always wanted to visit and now due to health issues I missed the chance. I don't know the gent that did the video but, I'm glad he did. Its one of my favorites. Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Charlie B - 08-21-2016 Larry, it's not that far from me and I need to get there. They got an S-1 that was stored in New Castle about 8 years ago. I have to find the time to see what's happening there. Also the stack has been changed by the different owners. Some previous owners include NW, NKP & PC. Re: Ashtabula Carson & Jefferson RR - Brakie - 08-23-2016 Andy,Would you know what number she carried as a PC unit? I would like to add that to my foot notes. I keep foot notes on Ohio short lines as information surfaces.. |
