Grades - MountainMan - 05-07-2017

Just watched a video of a cable tram claiming a "grade of 106%"!

Can anyone one explain what this means in real terms? :?

Re: Grades - Charlie B - 05-07-2017

It is shown in this chart MM

Re: Grades - BR60103 - 05-07-2017

It means that in a horizontal run of 100 units, the track rises 106 units.

or, if you put down a 8 foot stud, you'd need a 102" stud straight up at the end of it.

a 100% grade is a 45 degree angle.
