Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 06-19-2018 Hello, My Sidi Fontana layout is nearly finished so it's time for me to create a new one. I want to reproduce a Sugar cane railways in Egypt at oo9 scale. It's a real 2 feet gauge built by french and english in 19 th century and still used today. The train is used for 50 % of the cane sugar in Egypt. Two links on youtube https://youtu.be/_AlkUOPyaNE https://youtu.be/2hSj3oWkZBI . I will reproduce a part of a sugar cane refinery near luxor with his harbour and crane. The locomotives and the rolling stock don't exist and my friend Jean-Pierre Duval will do this with 3d printings. This is the mock up ![]() and the layout ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 06-26-2018 My friend Jean-Pierre DUVAL has already draw the FAUR HAWAMDIA locomotive in 3d. ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - shortliner - 06-26-2018 Franck - if you haven't already seen this it may interest you - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/130549-6point5-minimum-gauge-models/#entry3212432 Best Jack RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 06-27-2018 (06-26-2018, 07:48 AM)shortliner Wrote: Franck - if you haven't already seen this it may interest you - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/130549-6point5-minimum-gauge-models/#entry3212432 Thank you for the link but I don't see which part could interesting me. RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 07-01-2018 I add the backdrop in order to see if the composition is correct. I will leave the scene like few days in order analyze it and then to do some minor changes. The crane will be on pillars, I will add space between tanks and perhaps I will reduce the height of the tanks. I don't know how to fill the left corner of the layout. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 07-11-2018 I make some progress. I refine the scene composition. I reduce the height of the 3 tanks also. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 07-29-2018 I add few the details and vehicles and figures. ![]() ![]() ![]() police control at the gate ![]() a general view ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 09-28-2018 My friend Jean-Pierre Duval has finished to model one of the locos and the rolling stock ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 10-11-2018 My friend Jean-Pierre Duval has started to model also a schoma in 3d on a plymouth chassie. ![]() ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - doctorwayne - 10-11-2018 Are those diesels available as existing models or will you or your friend use an existing chassis, and modify the body to better match the drawings. The drawings suggest to me that perhaps the plan is to create the body shells using 3-D printing, or do you have something else in mind? I like your backdrop, as it really helps to set the scene for the modelled foreground. Wayne RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 10-11-2018 Hi Wayne, You see well, for both models, the plan is to create the body shells using 3-D printing and use the Bachmann #60091 Industrial - Black, Red & White - MDT Plymouth Switcher at n scale for the chassie. RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - Tyson Rayles - 10-12-2018 Interesting layout! RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - franckcombe - 12-10-2018 My Friend Jean-Pierre Printed the 3 different locos and the rolling stock as a test. We need only to print it in the right resolution and in the good direction to optimize the print. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - Tyson Rayles - 12-10-2018 Nice work on the locos! RE: Sugar cane railways in Egypt oo9 - doctorwayne - 12-10-2018 I agree. That's a good option for such unique locomotives. Wayne |
