Single Water Tower Servicing 2 Mainline Tracks? - railandsail - 09-11-2019

Can someone point me to an example were a single water tower (steam locomotive era) serviced 2 mainline tracks?

Perhaps at a wye?
Perhaps the water tower had two discharge nozzles on either side??

One water tower could supply water to mutiple tracks. the tower would feed water columns to service the other tracks. I was unable to find a good picture but I did find this

A long link. I hope it works.

A pipe on each side of one tank would mean the tracks would have to be spread out with the tank in the middle.
In Perth, Ont., the tank/tower was at the east end of the eastbound platform, near where the locomotive would stop. There was a standpipe at the other end of the westbound platform. Passenger trains could be watered while passengers boarded/left the train.

Someone sent me this on another forum,

I was hoping to put a single tower with 2 spouts like this in between 2 tracks that make a wye in my upper deck near the sawmill

If you are not exactly modeling a prototype keep in mind, it is your creation and you can do anything your heart desires, There will probably be a prototype for it somewhere and if not there are many of us that don't care.  Don't take the fun and enjoyment out of modeling  In this case you are the creator and what you do goes.  I run some equipment that is a little out of my era. I know it isn't prototype but I like these different locomotives so they are going to be used.  Goldth

Yes I do realize I can do what I like, but in this case I just wanted to know if it was totally 'out-in-left-field',...or was that saying 'right field'? Obviously I'm not a baseball guy Smile

Actually a water tower between two tracks would be practical and cost effective so if there is room in an area a full size railroad with a cost effective engineer would of course do this.
