While waiting for the loco to dry, I fashioned a fuel tank for the G/T car using Evergreen styrene tubing, capped at both ends. A piece of styrene rod is then attatched to the "fuel tank" for the filler neck.
Don't ask me how many gallons it could hold. Thats discussion for another thread....OH..yeah...There is another thread.
By the way, with the CNE trying to go "green", the generator will run off bio-diesel fuels only.

I know a few professors and grad students who'd appreciate that! I've spent a little bit of time in the lab making bio-diesel from deep dryer oil and then testing its exhaust when burned, but that isn't quite my field.
I like the little stories that people come up with for their models...having some sort of lettering or green spot for the marketing would be perfect! It will forever help link your business train to the late 00's.

Actually that dress up kit is still listed in the Walthers catalog as of the 2009 issue. The kit was a Walthers item, not an Athearn item. It will also work with any of the low priced f-units like Bachmann or the P1k F3, as well as the toys made by Lifelike, Model Power, Bachmann, and Mantua. What I found disappointing was that they no longer list the passenger car interior details that they used to sell. They used to sell nice heavy metal casting of seats that were a nice way to hide some extra weight in plain sight in a passenger car.

I've found stock cars and coaches to be two of the most annoying cars in which to hide weight. I plan on all future On3 passenger cars to have enclosed bottoms (like some real cars) to sheets of lead. I plan to cast some lead pigs for my future stock cars.
Are the passenger car parts still available and just not listed? I think they did that with PSC detail parts in 1999.

I think the passenger car interiors were a Walthers offering rather than part of a detail parts manufacturer's line. I think that Walthers carries or can get the entire line of parts manufactured by Precision Scale, Details West, and Detail Associates had their listings abridged by Walthers to save page count in the catalog. All of the detail parts manufacturers have their own catalogs available as far as I know.

Added a lift out panel, complete with lifing eyes, vent pipes and exhaust.

Prepped the trucks for painting.
to prevent paint from getting into the journals, I applied tape to the back side of the sideframes.
Loco shell and main body of G/T car are in the paint shop as I type.

Looking good! I like business trains and private varnish specials. Seeing one definitely relieves the boredom of endless stack trains that seem to be 90% of the traffic through Cajon Pass!

I think every train needs horns if they want to take it out of the shop and run it. I'm assuming (dangerous practice, I know) that he just removed the stock Athearn horns and filled the holes in order to install some better detailed ones after the paint is done.
