Surprised to hear the Jersey Central would be delivering a car today. Usually either the LNE or Reading work Inland.

To my joy a CNJ RSD-4/5 showed up with an LNE boxcar

Wondering if this was it until Old Casey walked over to the switch stand. Casey has had a checkered past. He has a history with the bottle and the last time he worked resulted in a covered hopper being pushed too far and it fell off the edge of the world.

He threw the switch and a short time later a Reading RS-3 pushing a couple of CNJ covered hoppers.

Apparently Old Casey is still hitting the bottle because as the train passed he slowly lost his balance and disappeared from view.

Was going to pack it in for the day when heard a whistle. Checked the time and discovered the Ridley Flyer was running late. Hurried back to my spot. Just in time too as the nose of the PRR PA1 appeared out of the cut.

There was some extra power today as a PB1 was assigned to the run

Saw why the extra power. The Flyer was running with some Railway Express Reefers and an extra baggage car.

Even the normal consist was longer. Usually the Flyer has a Combine and a coach. Today there was an extra coach.
