Death of a station master - Tyson Rayles - 03-15-2009

NANTAHALA TRIBUNE

SUNDAY MARCH 15th 2009

This just in:

The Nantahla Midland Railroad just reported the untimely death of it’s beloved station master I.M. Dunn.
It seemed the track crew had just finished ballasting the track in front of the newly built depot when a long black plastic tube dropped from the sky and proceeded down the track. It was accompanied by a loud humming sound according to wittnesses. When it approached the depot Mr. Dunn was apparently standing too close to the edge of the platform and was sucked up into this mysterious tube. Then just as fast as the tube appeared in the sky it was gone! Mike Goad the CEO of the railroad and ever mindful of the bottom line said at $10 for a 6 pack of these guys this was a serious blow to our bank account in these already troubled times. The NM is now accepting applications for Mr. Dunn’s old job at the depot Mon. thru Fri. from 9 am to 5 pm. Services for Mr. Dunn won’t be held as he is only a LPB after all.

Loosing a station master?

Man that sucks.......

Re: Death of a station master - Charlie B - 03-15-2009

Is any attempt being made at recovering the body? Without a body it will take 7 years before he can be declared dead legally.
How will Mrs. Dunn survive without benefits for that long?
Maybe he is faking his death and ran off with some floozy.
Charlie

Re: Death of a station master - ezdays - 03-15-2009

Oh Geeze, there should be a recovery program underway. I understand that there's some sort of a big black switch that can be thrown and the sucking motion of this big black tube can result in a swooshing motion depositing Mr. Dunn and probably a few of his colleagues. Misngth I suspect that a full investigation is in order, regardless. Icon_lol

Re: Death of a station master - Beamish - 03-16-2009

I think a picture is necessary to verify the story. Maybe one of the local newspapers has a press photo showing the scene. Or maybe just a few pictures of I.M Dunn from before the incedent. 357 357

Condolences to all the other LPB's.
There's been a long held belief that the "long black plastic tube in the sky" existed, and it had achieved mythical status in the PB community. Now, it can no longer be denied. Much like Big Foot, or Nessie, the long black plastic tube, has lived in the nightmares of the PB children. There will now be many sleepless nights. "Tubey", will now join the acetone swimming pool, in the horror filled dreams of the LPB's.

Re: Death of a station master - e-paw - 03-16-2009

The Anna lines have lost many an employee to a 400 foot fall and the occasional crush from a shoe the size of a building(to add insult to injury). We here send our condolences.

oh mannnnn - Dat's horrible!! Nope Nope Eek Eek

My thoughts are with the "small" family left behind..

Only thing I can add at this point, is that he went fast, unlike the MF&W RR LPB's that get "batted" around by the "Giant black Feline paws" Big Grin
