Re: MOW train in New Brighton, MN - Ralph - 03-29-2009 Neat stuff cn nutbar! Ralph Re: MOW train in New Brighton, MN - Russ Bellinis - 04-07-2009 Nice pics. I wonder how much other high tech mow equipment is out there that I know nothing about? I worked on a/c equipment for BNSF and U.P. on Ballast tampers when the EPA first restricted the use of freon to licensed techs only. I knew of rail grinders, but have never seen one in the "flesh," but a ballast cleaner is a new one to me. After reading the info on the link supplied by Brakie, I can understand the need for clean ballast, especially in the East where they actually have rain and snow to deal with. I don't know how important or often the ballast needs cleaning in the Southwest, especially in the desert.
