I still have a long way to go but here's the highway tunnel portal I've been working on.

I appreciate eveyrone's contributions to the thread.

E-paw, I can't rmember seeing that part of your layout before, thank you for sharing. It looks great.

Mister Nutbar, that layout room you have is fantastic! Nice and big and comfortable, what a great place to build a layout.

I've been real busy the last couple of months.

Geeze, Ed, I didn't realise I looked so grumpy when I work - must be a retired guy's problem. Icon_lol

I think that this photo, which my daughter snapped, better shows my serious, yet dignified demeanour.

After about three weeks off from the layout for work and family comitments I have returned to the basement to continue work on the SP&S shelf layout. I have finished up hanging my backdrop and after mudding nad giving it the base coat I have moved on to the actual painting. I was able to keep the mountain range from my Redmond layout and will now be expanding the scene all around the room.

And so it starts. Today, Alicia and I went down to the garage and started the long, slow, arduous task of putting the layout back together and cleaning, detailing, and re-modeling it. LOTS of new plans in the works, lots of money spent already, lots more TO spend, TONS of work, but the largest projects start with a first shovel, so today was it. We uncrated the 4 main pieces two weeks ago before I left for Texas, and today, I installed all of the filler pieces of track between modules and leveled all of the legs and bolted the sections together while Alicia vacuumed, dusted and cleaned the grounds and track. We ran out of steam before running the first test train. I figure of a trip of SD40-2's (I haven't got to run them yet since they were built and though larger than the normal power I intend to run on the small railroad). I figure of the three big units and 5 60' Genesis High Cubes and 4 loaded 89' pig flats will run the layout without issues, anything I do intend to run would be good to go. I have a big military motor vehicles event tomorrow with some friends WWII Jeeps but Sunday is another layout work day. Afterall, BB&G 100119 is sitting at the interchange and I need to get to cracken so I can get some photos here and at the brothers layout and send the car on to the next lucky recipient.

My fleet of WP Road power is ready to rock:

I'll start a new thread to document reconstruction. LOTS of changes and improvements in the works. Cheers

Ew! I guess I had better add some MDF paneling painted sky blue to the list. The side of the garage looks HORRIBLE. I also intend to add a backdrop along the end near the winery. The 2 bottom yard tracks will continue off the layout, around a curve and branch out to a table top yard full of track for car storage. Not sure how I'll work that through a backdrop though, any ideas?

Hey, me too! Just started this tunnel under a couple of upper level tracks. Previously the road going past the station ended at a retaining wall. Icon_lol
[Image: IMG_2271.jpg]

I'm also widening the street at West Mill which was unrealistically narrow. I had to cut one building down a bit to make them fit better...they're just sitting there as a "fer instance". Need sidewalks, road lines, and other details.
