Atlas O-scale Evans boxcar. I used the same methods to weather it as described on my RBOX car thread. The only difference is that I sprayed a few thin layers of diluted light grey paint to fade the dark green of the car before I went on.

That looks good!
Did it make a difference to weather an O box car vs. a H0 boxcar? The surface quadrupled and details become more prominent. It looks like you have to work even more precise.

You'd make a pretty penny selling those on ebay. i've seen weathered ho scale boxcars sell for over $200, could just imagine what people would pay for O scale.

Just for example...

Reinhard, it does not make a big difference if you are weathering an O or HO car. I think it is even a bit easier to work on the bigger cars, because I am using the same size paint brushes that I use for weathering HO cars, making it easier to paint small details.

Rscott, thank you, but I don’t think that I would like doing this for making money. It is fun when I feel like doing it, but then I might not be in the mood for weathering a car in months. So weathering my own rolling stock is all I can take on … and even that may take some time ...

Looking good Kurt. I especially like the streaks and crud to the left of the door in the first photo.
