The Hobo Camp Fire Is going well #VIII.. Stop In!!!
Greetings, gang.

Cloudy, muggy and 75 outside my window this morning. High for today is supposed to be 87, a little cooler than the last few days but with the humidity there's not that much difference. 1-2 inches of rain predicted for tonight.

Been out and about to a couple grocery stores already this morning. Next up is a bike ride followed by miscellaneous chores indoors.

All stay safe.

Good afternoon, kinda muggy here too. Temps still in the high 90's, maybe up to 100, humidity soaring to around 15% (well, for us that's high if it isn't raining, and it isn't.). If we exclude politics, there really isn't too much going on here. We've got one person running for the US senate that has been running a lot of TV ads for a couple of months now, and they haven't a clue who they're running against. I guess their war chest is brimming over with a lot of cash.....  Now a few anti ads are starting to appear, again, we still don't know who is going to win in the primaries. They just can't wait.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and cool are the weather words for today. 69 right now with a predicted high of about 80. Rain chances vary from 40% to70% for the remainder of the week.

Did some grocery shopping yesterday at two stores. Then went for a short bike ride followed by mowing the lawn. Shortly after I finished mowing the yard it started to rain. Rained so hard at times i could not see to the next block. Total rain since yesterday afternoon is about an inch and a third.

Not much on tap for today other than a trip to the gym and maybe a trip to Menards.

All stay safe.

Good morning all. "Abundant amount of sunshine", as the weather lady on TV put it. But, humidity was around 8% yesterday. We're still a bit below average for today, 101, but we're looking at a high of 112 for Friday, and another 112 in the forecast for next week. Ahh yes, tomorrow is the first day of Summer and we bring it in with a blast of hot air.. Hey, once it gets over 110, it's really hard to tell the difference. Hot is hot, just that's when we become overly cautious about touching any shiny metal that's been outside for a while, like the trim on your car, it can give you a nasty burn. And be careful if you turn on a hose, the water that's in it will actually burn you as well. Drain it and the water is still hot. When it's this hot out, you can usually take a warm shower just using the cold water. Now you know why we so desperately need the rain....

Hello Blue
Cloudy and 70s today. Some rain late evening took the 96 degrees with it.
My Legacy engine ran well at our club meet till they turned on the DCS and then my engine started acting up. Some claim they play nice together but that's just sometime. No matter what MTH says. My engine worked fine after I tried it at home on Sunday.

Greetings, gang.

Partly cloudy and 68 in the remote reaches of northern Iowa this morning. High for today is only supposed to be about 73, downright frigid compare to last weekend. Got another 3/4 inch of rain overnight with 2-3 more inches predicted between now and Friday.

Didn't do much yesterday. Got some bills paid and picked up the new license plates for my car. Gave the clerk a hard time about having the old plates for 10 years, finally getting the numbers memorized, and now they changed them again. Told her I was too old to keep up with such rapid changes. She got a good laugh out of it. Besides, the new plates are downright ugly and look more like cardboard.

No major plans yet for today.

Continuing prayers for all in need.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, another hot day today, 106 in the forecast. "abundant sunshine" has turned into, "extreme heat alert".

Tom, our license plate problems here are there are too many different plates here in Arizona. Some years ago some slick salesman sold the state on the idea of changing from maroon and white, to a picture (like my avatar). That was fine until the same salesman told them that they can charge extra for personalized (like my avatar), and specific dedication. Any group can apply to have one and pay a fee to make it, like all our sports teams, colleges, various groups and causes. Again, they charge $25 a year, (add another $25 if you want it personalized),  for this and split that with the group, so the state and the group can both profit. That's a good thing I guess, but we now have close to 100 different plates and you can no longer ID some vehicles as being from Arizona just by looking at the plate. Some have pictures and logos on them, some are just a different color. I saw one the other day and it was just blue with white letters which could have been from any state or even country. Oh yeah, you can still keep your old plates and transfer them to a new vehicle, so we still have some maroon and while ones on the road. Confusing at best and defeats the reason we have license plates to begin with.

I guess that the older we get, the more little things in life bug you... Icon_rolleyes

Ontario plates are still white with blue letters. The standard is 4 letters, a small crown, 3 numbers.
Special plates are available with a symbol and are usually 2 numbers, 2 letters, 2 numbers. The letters are related to the symbol -- someone in the village has a pair of dancers and the letters SQ. Also custom combos.
The 4 letters are now in the Cxxx range; I still haven't seen any that start CCCP. The series started with Axxx about the beginning of the century.
There was a problem with paint. A new formula that started peeling off after a few years. Apparently it's illegal to repaint it yourself.
No age limit on the plates. We still see some with the original 3 letters 3 numbers from the 70s/80s.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and cool this morning.  Right now it's 64 headed for a blistering high of 66.  Another inch of rain yesterday.

Went to the gym and had a good workout but one of the machines I was using needed some remedial training on how to use its software.  According to the machine my heart rate was 197. Eek  After a couple of restarts it showed my heart rate at about 125 which was about right.  Notified the front desk on my way out.  After lunch I decided to go for a bike ride.  Checked the radar and it showed rain in the next county to the south moving this way.  Got out my bike and made it a half mile before some light rain started coming down.  As I rolled back into the garage the heavens let loose.  Wound up with the aforementioned inch of rain.  Also had three tornadoes in the county but no damage reported other than some minor crop damage.

There are about 35 different plates available in Iowa.  The regular plates consist of three letters and three number.  My wife was fond of making up words from the three letters.  For example she saw one plate and said "Oh, my.  That person has 746 BOM(bs)."  Another plate had the three letters DUH.  Figure out your own joke for that one.

Nothing much planned for today other than gas up the car and pick up a half gallon of milk.  May also go to Menards for some things.

All stay safe.

Good morning all, and a happy first day of summer. Yup, days start to get shorter starting tomorrow. Well, that's what they say, they really mean "daylight" gets shorter, days are still a full 24 hours long though... Big Grin

Nothing big happening, we're looking at 110+ for the next few day, humidity under 10%. Last year I remember one day was like 2% humidity. I also was told that it was 119 on this day last year. Eek

Greetings, gang.

60, cloudy, and a light drizzle are inhabiting my neighborhood this morning. The drizzle should be moving on by lunch time and the temperature should hit the mid 70s, so sayeth the NWS.

Went to Menards and picked up some supplies. Ran the car through the car wash to get the big chunks off. Then came home and washed the car again by hand and waxed it. Looks pretty good. Then went to weekly group. Only two of us last night. And of course on the way home ran into some light drizzle. Just enough to make the car look dirty again.

No major plans for today.

All stay safe.

Good morning all. Hot and dry, but nowhere near record heat which runs from 115 to 122 around this time. I'm not sure where some of the TV weather people get their data from, but one said that the record for the other day was 119 last year. I look up the records for June, and she was off by 4 degrees and 9 years (115/2008). As an engineer, if I was off by that much on something that I designed, I would have been forced into retirement a lot earlier than I did. And as for the record, I also see where the average June rainfall for Phoenix is....0.04". Not a heck of a lot. The other day when it rained here, some areas got around an inch, some less than that, but at the Phoenix Airport, they got just a trace which is the official site, so that's what's on the books.

Morning.  Hot and humid already.  Getting good showers during the night.  That helps gardens. Big deck 99% finished.  Wifey happy.  Not as busy Mayor wise as yesterday.  Chores and mow grass.

Have a good one.
