HOn3 4-6-0 build
#1
I had some leftover drivers from an HOn3 MDC 2-8-0, and an old MDC boiler that I had ruined the smokebox front, so I decided to try and turn it into an HON3 4-6-0.  First, I designed and printed a frame through Shapeways.

The boiler had to be shortened a little to fit on the frame.  I'm using the basic dimensions of an East Tennessee and Western North Carolina (ET&WNC) 4-6-0.   You can see the boiler is trashed - needs a new smokebox front, new stack, and some putty and sanding.  The cab is narrowed from an AHM 0-6-0.

I needed a new smokebox front and an oil bunker for the tender, so I designed and printed them thru Shapeways.
