I have been busy lately so I had finished these modules but never took pictures of them, well here they are now.

I wanted a cutaway mountain scene, plus when you live in the desert, very green modules are a nice thing to see.

My next module is my homage to Arches National Park, I love the rocks and arches out there, so what better way to show them off with a train running under them!

Lastly, here is my alien abduction module, eventually the UFO will be lighted, but haven't had time.

How long would it take you to go from an empty dining room table to having a train running around all modules as shown above?

As long as I don't have to readjust the legs, I can take it from setup in my train room to setup in dining room and have trains running in under 10 minutes. As long as most of the legs are correct, even adjusting a few doesn't take long. The hardest part of moving it is that we don't have a carrier to carry multiple modules, but we are working on designing those this week. I am hoping that we can design them to carry six modules a time, that will make it super easy.

Oh oh, someone else who knows Veggie Tales. They get quoted around my house too from time to time.

Really nice job on the sections!

Hey Herc I missed the Veggie quote? Gotta love Larry's crazy songs though. Sport utility vehicle is our favorite.

Jesso, that setup time is fantastic! I like the tribute to the arches. How did you make the rocks?

I made the basic shape with 1/2 pink styrofoam and built the arches with that. The balanced rock I made by cutting a bunch of styrofoam up while watching tv and gluing it together. Then I put a LOT of sculptamold on and just played with it with a butter knife. Lastly, I begged my wife to paint it and she did her usual great job on it.

That looks great! I like the concept, but I'm not sure it would work as well in ho, since everything would need to be much larger and thus heavier to set up and move. I have one question, though. Do you have any problems with the carriage bolt heads (feet) scratching the dining room table? When I built a module for club shows where I didn't want it to scratch or damage a floor, I picked up some rubber feet that were @ 1 inch square from Home Depot. I mixed up some 5 minute epoxy, and then held the carriage bolts in place while pouring the epoxy in to fill the squares. I held the bolts up straight until the epoxy set up. I now have non-marking feet for my module. I just have not had the time or space to do the scenery to make my module more than a "plywood central."

Sorry I haven't been around much, work has been tiring me out a lot lately. Russ, I haven't seen any problems so far with the feet of the modules, but rubberizing them sounds like a good idea. Would also help with sliding on the table. At our showing at the library, a couple of kids kept leaning on the modules and pushing them across the table, and as the tables are 30" wide and the modules are nearly 29", can be scary. We are going to work on roping off the next show, and cleaning up modules and setups, we just didn't have time for the last show. Here are pictures from the last show: http://ttrak.colorcountrytrains.org/?pag...&gallery=3

I have finished two new modules, both are junction modules that are designed to be together most of the time. The first one is a mountain tunnel module. The mountain lifts off for easy access.

The next module is my new lake module, with a new sea serpent.
Here is a closeup of the sea serpent.

These are the two modules together.

I like the close up of the "sea monster", and the man standing on the rock.
I can hear the conversation...........
