New Heat Source for G Scale Railroad
#1
So, I got the idea from a magazine about scale propane tanks.   Our main office was using a fireplace as the only heat source.
Now, this winter we'll have a propane heater too Smile Smile

First: The office, a used caboose:

And then 2 views of the new tank.

It's made from a 1-1/4" wood dowel, cut to about 5".
Then I cut 1-1/4 wood balls in half and glued them on the ends of the dowel.
I used a left over half of a ball to make the dome by grinding the edges down to make a cap.

Then primed and painted gloss white.

I cut the base out of a 1 x 3 by drilling a 1-1/4' hole thn cutting it in half and them cutting it to length. Spray painted them flat black.

Nicely done, now there are no more problems finding firewood or coming into a cold office.

Thanks.  The platform is made from different sized hobby wood and the deck is made from wooden slats from a window blind.
The holes toward the back is where the string would go through the individual slats.
