Remaking of the Ridley Keystone & Mountain
When I put down the split roadbed, I had big pins where the middle of the track would go. You have little pins in there. Then I could butt the roadbed halves right against them.

In model railroading, there are between six and two hundred ways of performing a given task.
Most modellers can get two of them to work.

I finally found the time to work again on the layout.

I placed the foam roadbed in the area where I am going to do scenery. I laid the track back over the roadbed to make sure everything fits.

Looking the other way.

I am using Woodland Scenics foam roadbed. I will eventually cut around the turnouts when I finalize those areas. Where there is no paint the roadbed is temporary,

Using Woodland Scenics transition sections I added 2% temporary transitions from the foam board to the foam roadbed.

Test trains have been successfully run through the section. I plan on doing one or two run by trains. After that I will glue the roadbed in place in the area where the passenger station will go.

Lots of progress, looking good....You have more track down than I have total space.

Started gluing down the roadbed. Working on the inside track first.

Need to run to the hardware store and grab some Liquid Nails or something similar for attaching the track.

A model railroad may be complete, but never finished.

Using Liquid Nails and a putty knife to spread out the Liquid Nails I attached the inside track.

The next step is weathering the track.

For this I am trying something new. I am using Woodland Scenics Tidy Track Painter Pen. For the side of the rails I am using Rusty Rail and for the ties Weathered Tie.

First section I tried with both the rail and ties weathered.

Next is a section where just the rails are done alongside an untouch section.

Here is a section with both the rails and ties done against an undone section

Lastly an overhead shot showing the weathered track on top and unweathered below.
