Greetings, gang.

Cloudy, breezy, and cool this morning. 28 right now headed for the low to mid 30s later. Got about a half inch of snow overnight.

I took a day off from the world yesterday. Skipped the gym and watched old moves, ate, and played solitaire. Fun time on the Skype call last night. Felt sorry for Lutz who generously stayed up and put up with us. This morning I'll get rid of the snow. Then at 11 is college football. Laundry will get done off and on throughout the day.

All stay safe.

Morning. Slept until 8:30. Partly cloudy and clearing some. 54 degrees. High 60's for deer stand this afternoon. Getting ready to leave and do some feeder work. Seems I am the only one that know how to do anything.

SIL killed a cull buck out of my stand yesterday.  Finally.  He comes frequently.  Fine with me as I don't have to drag him out.  Old buck turning real gray and bad antlers.

Ordered there buildings from Menards yesterday.  Get free pickup with the purchase.  Really think I could have gotten 3 pickups.  1 is enough.

Have a good one and stay well.

Good morning everyone, a bit cold this morning, below chilly and into the 40's. My thermometer is a few degrees above what the official temp is here, but then, that weather station is a few miles to the north. It could get into the 30's tonight, lots of folks start putting sheets over their plants and shrubs about this time to keep them from freezing. Uh, have any of them even tried that with a cactus? We have what we call a, "jumping cactus". Small spiky things seem to jump on you if you get close. There are hundreds of needles with hooks on them that embed in you skin. Extremely painful, very hard to remove. Icon_cry How do I know this? No need to ask.... Nope And no, we do not have one of those in our yard.

Honda says that they want to update my GPS maps for free. Applause Needed a 16 gig USB stick, can't use a bigger one, has to be exactly 16. Bought one, and started the not-so-simple download. There are 28 steps to the process, and that's after you've downloaded the app. They give you 24 hours to do step 9 (run the app), once you've started step 1. Guess which step I'm hung up on..... Not only that, once you've get to the step that you transfer the data to the vehicle, it must be running all that time, and it could take up to four hours. Do I really need to update my maps, I usually know where I'm going and how to get there. Do I really care that they've added a few new streets in Dubuque, Iowa? I don't think so.

Watched a bit of the Arizona State-U of Arizona game the other night. I turned it on as ASU scored, then scored and scored again and again. Final score for the Arizona "Territorial Cup", 70-7. Both teams have only played a few games this year, but this is the only one they ever care about every year.

Greetings, gang.

Gloomy and 25 headed for sunny and 35.

Pretty quiet day yesterday. Watched my team go down in flames again. This morning I watched the last Formula 1 race of the season. Based on positions it could have been an interesting race but turned out to be a dud. Only other thing on my agenda for today is maybe a walk this afternoon.

All stay safe.

Good morning, good morning... back again to another Monday. It's really hard to comprehend how quickly we got to this close to the end of another year. Whoosh.... and it's 2021. Maybe we can skip a few years and call it 2024, no more virus, everything back to normal. But wait, that's another election year, I don't think we need another one of those yet, let's just call it 2021 for now.

Finally got my GPS map update on a USB flash drive. The four hours they were talking about was the download time. It would have taken less, but every time there was a slight hiccup, the download would start over again, not where it left off. So  now, I'm suppose to turn on the vehicle, plug in the USB drive and keep the motor running for at least an hour, (maybe four), while it updates. No way, if I decide to drive across the country, I'll update, but for now, I'm good with my GPS maps the way they are.

I see some chance of more rain, just that it's the last few days of they year, and the beginning of the new year. There's 100% chance of that changing before then.

Have a great day, and stay safe.

Good morning
Bad weekend for me. muscle aches and pains but no fever or lung problems, just weak. I didn't east Saturday or Sunday. Had half a breakfast this morning and I am feeling better.

Chilli here with the high to be 37. Snow and rain just south of us, We are looking at a possible snow next Monday, but I don't care one way or the other. The kids don't have school. They started back last Thursday and another case of covid was diagnosed so they are back to in home learning.

Stay safe all. CSI guy has recovered as well as another of my old Kiski Volunteers so I am thankful for that.

Greetings, gang.

Clear and cold this morning at 9 degrees F. High for today is supposed to be in the mid 20s with clouds moving in this afternoon.

Watched a pretty boring race yesterday morning. Otherwise didn't do much. Talked to my son and his family in Houston. Granddaughter sounds cheerful but doesn't talk much about her treatments. Also got a call from my other son last night. Home from the hospital. Otherwise not much change from him. Headed to Walmart shortly. Need a few groceries and I want to get some clip on sunglasses for my new glasses. They're not photo gray (first time in decades) but that's fine. The photo gray interferes with camera and cell phone usage.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

It is a rainy 39 at the moment. High is supposed to be 43. According to the weather hype specialists there is a Nor’easter coming on Wednesday. Depending on who you listen to we could get anywhere from 6 to 10 inches. They say parts of North Jersey could get 18 inches or more. We will see. I might have to drag the snowblower out into the driveway and start her up and see if I can scare the storm off.

We have a bunch of new restrictions to deal with starting yesterday. The vaccine can’t come soon enough. In the school district my wife works the high school and a elementary school went all virtual for the next three days due to too many students having tested positive. The announcements came Sunday afternoon. Doesn’t affect her since she is virtual. My daughter’s district’s high school switched to virtual last week and they announced they are staying virtual through Wednesday due to not having enough staff to run the school. She got the notice 7 PM last night.

I had a pretty good weekend with my back until last night. I was up half the night with it bothering me. I took it easy. The only thing I did was remove the old Ring doorbell camera and replace it with a new one. It was somewhat frustrating mainly since the mounting holes on the new one did not line up with the old one.

I finished building all the Tropicana reefers, two Athearn blue boxes, and five Con-Cor. The last Con-Cor one was the worst of the Con-Cor kits. While the misaligned and undersized screw holes on the other four Con-Cor kits were a minor problem, this one was ten times worse. One of trucks had a hole too big and the provided screw could not hold it place. I had to steal trucks off an undecorated Atlas Trainman 50 FT boxcar. Then I had trouble getting the frame into the shell. I gave up for a time. When I returned, I was finally able to finesse it into place. Then I noticed the brake wheel was missing. No luck on finding it and I used an extra from an MDC/Roundhouse express reefer kit. At last, I was able to seal the reefers to prepare them for weathering. I also sealed six Bowser NYO&W coal hoopers, two Atlas cabooses (Chessie and Western Maryland), and an Athearn RTR Chessie Safety caboose in preparation for weathering.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Wet good morning. Pouring and 59 degrees. Now we've had some hard downpours and thunder. Even Mirra [cat] came back in and went upstairs to her bed. Lucy still in the bed.

Wifey had to work today. Filling in for the "college girl" who works there part time.
Nothing on agenda. Work tomorrow and Wed. Human Services Board and Regional Networks meetings all Thursday AM.
Hope all have a great day.

Good morning all, gas prices here are like the weather reports, all over the map. Costco was $1.96 when I filled up last week. Others are from $2.23 to $2.29 with brand names higher than that. Are they going up or down? Good question.....

And our weather reports are like our gas prices, one shows rain for next week, another shows it for the week after that, and another doesn't show any at all for either week.

Got the results of my granddaughters ultrasound, it's a boy!!!!! I guess the father's genes won out this time. His family says that the first one is always a boy. Glad I didn't bet any money on that one..... Icon_rolleyes

Got enough scrap plywood out in the garage to make a holder for my craft paints, glue bottles and other stuff. Just going to make something with a couple of pull-out drawers that won't take up any more space than what I've got now, but a lot handier. Let's me do something with my other passion, woodworking.

Greetings, gang.

Cloudy and 15 degrees headed for cloudy and 27.  No sun until maybe late tomorrow.  Warming trend (mid 40s) by the weekend.

Walmart run completed successfully followed by a trip to the gym.  I love going to the gym during the holidays.  All the young students are home from college and make the visit, um, let's just go with visually entertaining.  Goldth Today is another trip to the gym followed by maybe some house cleaning upstairs.

All stay safe.

Good morning folks

It is a downright chilly 30. High may reach 38. The weather folk are all lathered up about the impending doom, I mean Nor’easter. Six to twelve inches is one prediction I keep hearing. I suspect by this afternoon we will be in a four-alarm bread and milk panic.

After doing some household chores I had a pretty good day modeling. I got all seven Tropicana reefers weathered. Now I have to seal them.

I have some things to do in the yard just in case we do get some snow. I need to position the snow blower so I can easily get it out of the garage if needed. I also need to run to the produce store and possibly the grocery store.

In between all the other stuff I hope to seal the reefers after I put the wheels back in the trucks. I could then start weathering the cabooses or the NYO&W hoppers.

I hope everybody has a good day.

When we left the house this morning to shop it was sunny but 22 degrees. It is now 27. At least that big snow storm is not headed towards us.
