Nice work, Guy.  I've always liked adding those kind of small details that take a model from "okay" to "Oh wow!"

It's nice when you can learn by watching someone else's challenge progress this way. Good job.

Thank you guys for the comments.

Wayne: I was surprised to discover what can be done by adding some details to an Athearn BB Kit.

Lutz : Maybe. But thanks for the encouragement.

Challenge completed.

I have had a lot of fun doing this challenge.  Modifying an Athearn BB boxcar has been a lesson for me as I had never thought that it was possible to get a nice car from it.  After priming the car (sorry, no picture was taken), I was so impressed that I thought about retiring from the challenge and finish the car as a CNR one instead of the fictitious road.

As I have mentioned before, this was not the real challenge for me.  The real challenge was to do something to motivate me to finish other projects which were waiting for much too long to go through the paint room :

Three boxcars

And three cabooses

Completing the TCC boxcar started the process.

Those projects won't be finished for the "do something challenge" deadline but at least I am now working on them.

I hope there will be a new "do something challenge" in a near future.
