Hi,

I made some progress.

I assembled and painted the gun for the fortress and the rail car.

I paint the cactus.

I paint also the cross for the cemetery in order to recreate the scene from the good, the bad and the ugly.

For the market, I done the two iconic vegetables (lime with mustard seed and pepper with dill seed).

Frank,

Your work is great only surpassed by your great ideas. The fruit and vegetables are going to be a great addition and someday I might try this for the farm scene on the Wilderson.

Hi,

Thank you for the positive reply.

I spend more times on my layout. After painting the tracks, I glue the buildings, rocks and but not the Cactus.

I have to modify the color of one kind of cactus.

What do you thing about the 2 saguaro cactus ? Are they too big compared to the rest of the scene ? In reality we can encountered saguaro twice as big.

In the future I will cover the layout with red sand and the tombs with red stone.

Hello Frank

Your cactus are perfect in size and the whole scene is in great proportion.  Next step please. Worship

Boy, that looks like my front yard, all except the crosses. That must have been one hellova gun fight.

Superb detailing and as usual,  with a very light and fun twist.

Hi,

Thank you for the positive posts.

I wish you an happy new year with plenty trains.

I was very busy until now,  so I do little progress on sound. I will have a general sound (wooden speaker) unit for sound of pistols, Mexican music, ...  and I have 3 separate sound modules under the layout  with sounds on demand with a push button for the visitors in exhibition for the church (from Mexican and Californian churches), for the water tower (with real sound) and for the cemetery with the iconic replicas of the good , the bad and the ugly.

Hi,

After a long pause because I have manies things to do, I'm coming back.

I had a long work to paint more than 72 figures. I hate this stage of the building because I have not a great skill to paint it and it's very boring. But it's a necessary step because the soul of a layout is link to the figures. I modified some figures in order to have more civilians than armed people.

There are all the classical figures of mexican western with a bull skull, the vultures, Dr Schultz from Django, the good , the bad and the ugly and of course all the mexican pisotleros, the monks, ... For Dr Schultz, the good , the bad and the ugly it's a little strange because we are supposed to be in 1910-1920 but I want to pay a tribute to these two formidable movies. I have also a regret to not have done yet a true western spaghetti layout because my previous layout was lucky luke layout  and a mexican layout now.

Franck,

Well done!
I love those figures from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly.
They are recognizable from the movies!
It took me a moment to identify the Man with No Name, but the serape over his shoulder gave the clue!

Did you construct those figures yourself?

I bought the figurines from an UK figures manufacturer mainly. The Mexican figures are not so easy to find it.

It may be boring, long and tedious work, Franck, but your efforts are paying off! I think you underestimate the quality of your painting - looks quite good to me! Can't wait to see it all in the module.
