Not me, but were the emails just reporting new posts or something else?
Just curious...

zealot is moving to a new domain name.
I won't bother posting it here unless someone really wants it.

Greetings, gang.
Another smoky/hazy/partly cloudy day outside my window this morning. 64 now going to maybe the upper 80s again.
Quick visit to the doctor's office yesterday for a blood draw. Annual physical next Monday. Then ball games at 11 and 5:30. Games again today at both times and only at 11 tomorrow. I'm going to try for a bike ride early this morning. Either not enough time or too hot yesterday.
Zealot moved to the dot lol domain which is kind of appropriate considering that domain is for humor.
All stay safe.

Hi Tom,
Why are the toll booths being removed?
Just wondering. We don't have them out West.
Hope your day is going great.

I finally have a chance to look over the forums.
As far as the toll booths/plazas, the PA Turnpike went to Open Road Tolling from Reading to New Jersey on the East/West Turnpike and the entire length of the Northeast Extension. Open Road Tolling is gantries that are located on the mainline that take photos of your license plate or read your EZ-Pass. From the Ohio State Line to Reading this information is still collected at gantries locate at the interchanges/toll plazas.
I took out a couple of Lehigh & New England RS-2 Proto 1000 locomotives to run them. They have not been on the layout for close to 20 years. They started out rough and had to be helped along in a few places but within 15 or 20 minutes they were running good. I am going to need to run them longer I think to get them to run smoother and I may have to do some lubing.
I hope everybody has a good day.

Happy Friday the 13th, gang.
More haze/smoke in the air this morning. 69 now and maybe the mid 80s again later.
One morning baseball game and that should see the end for this week. So far I've drive about 250 miles just attending games this past week. Games most every weekday for the next 3 weeks before the season is over. Not much else going on. I'll go for a bike ride soon before it gets too hot and humid.
All stay safe.

Well good day gang.
We here have had some difficult times since Christmas but we are starting to snap out of it. My wife is slowly recovering from Guillain-Barre syndrome. She has gone from completely paralyzed on Christmas Day to today she was able to fight her way through making a pot of chili.
I am starting to gain some strength finally but I still can't walk more than 200 feet at a time. I have been in a funk for a couple weeks and yesterday I decided enough was enough. I went to the train shed determined to assemble the details on one of the C30-8s I have been working on. I discovered it was missing a few detail parts so I made them and at 1:45 AM I put it on the track and took some pictures and test ran it. I have to put a shield inside to stop the headlight from shining out the cab windows and I will put the decals on the number boars and touch up the white on the hand rails, but it was enough to break the funk.

All I need now is a good 8 hours of sleep.
Thanks everyone for being here, true friends like here on Blue are really rare.
I am praying for all of us to have a peaceful world and finally find the cures for all of the horrid diseases preying on us.
Cheers to all
Charlie

Good evening folks
I finally got into the office this morning. I was able to catch up on a lot of the paperwork. I am still waiting for them to open up the project on the computer so I can begin to enter the information directly into the program.
We may be working Monday night so I might have to adjust my sleep schedule. The contractor is implementing the temporary traffic control in the Norristown PA Turnpike Interchange. They will be placing temporary concrete barriers and shutting down three quarters of the toll booth lanes. The toll booths have been closed for a while since the Turnpike went to open road tolling. Since we must paint lane lines and other pavement markings we need to keep an eye on the weather. There cannot be any rain since we cannot paint a wet roadway.
It looks like we will be making a few errand runs tomorrow such as the post office and the pharmacy. My wife may want to stop and pick up some flowers to replace the pansies that are currently in the window boxes. Saturday is the Delaware County Pride Festival. My son is the main organizer. We will be on call for any last-minute needs. Sunday we will most likely go out for Fathers’ Day dinner.
I am hoping to run the Western Maryland BL2 and make a video. Last evening I dug out two Proto 1000 Lehigh & New England ALCO RS-2 locos. They have not seen the layout for 20 plus years. I tested them and they ran rough in the beginning but within 15 to 20 minutes they were running smoother. I want to work with them over the weekend.
Charlie glad to hear that the recoveries are coming along.
I hope everybody has a good evening.
