Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 12-12-2013

The weather has been very good for model railroading this week. I finished my P2K Mather stock car kits (5 of them) and added them to the consist. I have a total of 39 stock cars (2 in the repair shop) so it makes a nice looking unit train.
I also built the Novelty Iron building as it was intended, and it makes a nice building. I have several places it will work.

Here's the Golden Star building in it's location. It still needs some greenery planted around the footers.

And here is a picture of a bank that I added some foam and grass to.

I'm waiting once again for youtube to process a video. It's been up for 14 hours but isn't ready.

Have a good week end guys.

It is impressive to see a model train of that length

Re: Charlie b's layout - Ralph - 12-14-2013

Great train watching spot!!! Wow, you run some long trains! You may remember that my cat Lucy has enjoyed sitting on the computer table watching your trains slowly roll by. She immediately appeared out of nowhere when I turned on your latest video and watched it with me. I think the sound of your locos catches her ear. Then she stares in rapt attention until the cabin car goes off the screen. You surprised her with that coal drag after the first train went by! Thumbsup

Re: Charlie b's layout - Charlie B - 12-14-2013

Thanks for the good comments everyone. It is snowing here so tonight will be more time with the layout. I got another area cleared so I have room to work. I am almost out of tabletop storage space.

I just don't know, that orange really needs some dulling down, the reflection about knocks you off your feet. Misngth
There are a few more private lines I want to make as I get time. Maybe we could have a thread where individuals could post their own art work so we could make or have decals made, or, maybe the Gauge could get an 8X10 sheet of all the private lines artwork and information and have decal sheets made to sell as a fund raiser. With the KPW, ANNA, EG&E, GERN, L&SW, Midland Gulf, and all the rest I can't remember it would make an interesting decal sheet.

I took notice of the KP&W car too. Very cool, Charlie B!!!!

We both started our railroad buildings around the same time, and I must admit we have accomplished a great deal in a few years. Woohoo! Big Grin
