Thanks cn nutbar and Wayne for posting some additional pictures and for the info about the SW1200RM.
I'm just curious to know why that hybrid engine was created ?

Jacques, from what I've read, the Sweep uses the frame, trucks, and cab of an SW1200RS, and the hood, main generator, cooling fans, and traction motor blowers from a GP9, and is re-engined with a 12V-645C diesel engine.

I think that they're all owned privately now, by leasing firms or industries.

it was a CN in house rebuild
cross with a Sw 1200 and Geep, the Dymanic brakes were not installed
nick named sweeps
all now retired and leased out thru canac
i think they are super cool looking

Hello Everyone---here's some Canadian "Alcos",built at the Montreal Locomotive Works---these diesels were a common sight on both the CNR and CPR during the 90's
