BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 A little thread about my layout the Bonaventure & Chambly (BOeC) in HO scale. It is a compressed rendition of the St-Hyacinthe Subdivision and Drummond Subdivision in eastern Canada, Quebec, representing the very busy main line between Montreal and Quebec city. Montreal is not depicted except a compressed version of the Montreal Gare Centrale (Central Station), otherwise Montreal is staging. Quebec city is staging only. Towns along the way are St-Hyacinthe, Ste-Rosalie, Drummondville, and the A20. I`ll post more pics as the layout progress. Thank you for looking Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 CN SD60F (Kaslo, custom made, Tsunami DDC + Sound) East end of St-Hyacinthe (started the scenery again) Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Also try as best as I can to follow prototype practice Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Since I model the late 80's - mid 90's, MLW are an important component of the fleet. However I decided to make an exception of keeping 2 CN passenger trains - and VIA rail of course and LRC of course Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 I realy like MLW`s power However Since I follow the prototype for that particuaor era, some non-MLW are part of the roster At Ste-Rosalie Ste-Rosalie COOP grain silo (in construction) Rue Yamaska in St-Hyacinthe Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 VIA At St-Hyacinthe And a bit of weathering The Rapido Angus Van is a favorite of mine Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Weathering... Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 I`ve been asked a few times if I had a track plan. I don`t at the moment. The best I could come up with is a rough, not to scale, drawing of the layout set-up: That is it for now Re: BOeC layout - bdw9535 - 10-05-2014 Syl, What a great looking layout, like the use of your scenery with the backdrop and the weathering on your grain cars , very nicely done. Bruce Re: BOeC layout - jwb - 10-05-2014 I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that you can now find CN in the US Deep South. Here are two CN-GTW units in Jackson, MS Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Quote:What a great looking layout, like the use of your scenery with the backdrop and the weathering on your grain cars , very nicely done. Thanks Bruce. It's a work in progress. For the scenery I use a variety of products: Fine ground foam, clump foliage. pot planters, and a mix of various size and color static grass. The backdrop helps a lot too! For weathering I use either acrylic colors, gouache, or oil. Applied with a paint brush and cosmetic sponges. They do indeed go far and wide. Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Re: BOeC layout - MLW - 10-05-2014 Later Syl Re: BOeC layout - faraway - 10-05-2014 I like what you show of your layout. The weathering of cars and engines is done very well |
