mr bachmann Wrote:nothing much to report - had a couple of quiet days - just made this buffer/oil store for a friend , who has a disability and is unable to even make a simple kit , the buffer is illuminated and a reed is under the track , when the tank car arrives the water tank building , yard light and ground signal illuminates .
its all scratch built , this is where Kato track comes into its own - its simple plug and play Thumbsup

a bit more work on the grade side's , not the award winning scene's but will hide the white foam ....

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 03-25-2015

work has been on the new bridge across the little stream that fills the creek , this is from Wills , easy build and cost is small !!!
this could be standardised for small bridging on the layout .
these kits are 00/H0 but the bridge looks ok in N .

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - Tyson Rayles - 03-25-2015

The bridge looks good, is the grey area going to be water?

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 03-26-2015

the grey area is the lake , on the layout it is blue-ish in colour , only paint , it may get re done once the track is sorted out . Its part of the old layout the trestle , tunnel mouth , girder bridge and lake (hence Roundhouse Creek) I thought it was sad to destroy it , its looking a bit coarse scale but its sentimental as first attempt .

with a tip off to the police department , Railroad security and the authority's search for the human remains , in the event the town folk surveyed the scene .

stop playing 35 .. back to track laying

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 03-28-2015

the track is now on the incline , complete with foam/granite ready ballasted underlay from Noch , quick and simple - stuck down with white glue (PVA) , once dry and cleaned it will be loco testing time .....

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 04-11-2015

to separate the two levels on the layout I have disguised the gap with a fence .

very nice! You're a good friend. His layout looks neatly done with a lot of ground cover...some appears to be real dirt?

Your layout looks great as well! Thumbsup

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 04-26-2015

continuation of the back drop and a girder bridge and hill awaiting positioning once the glue has cured on the backdrop .

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 04-27-2015

the hilly bit and bridge in situ tunnel entrance next ,

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 05-13-2015

trees planted ...

looking down the main line - note its close to the back 0f the wall ...

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - faraway - 05-13-2015

Do I see that right, you have vertical two dimensional forming a three dimensional backdrop? That is unusual but looks very good and interesting.

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 06-21-2015

its been a while , but things are once again on the move , it has been decided to convert the roundhouse to a working museum ....
the loco is from the Del-prado collection , it a Great Eastern Railway (UK) Super Claude 4-4-0 .

Interesting scene.

Re: roundhouse creek N scale - mr bachmann - 09-17-2016

after a long spell away from modelling its time to re start the layout rather than trash it and start afresh , after a good tidy with the vacuum cleaner it looked worth saving ,
here's a caboose I picked up at the last train show attended during July...
