Re: Free Layout Design Help - railroader9731 - 11-10-2016 Ok Rob all makes sense now. Next question is what and where are grades. Also what are inches from base to e;evations in places? Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-10-2016 Hi Harry, I worked out the grades, and elevations as follows:
Take care, Rob. Re: Free Layout Design Help - railroader9731 - 11-12-2016 Rob I have given it much thought and I like the set up and being solo operator along with play time. So with that said id like to know what radios needed and where they need to be. Thanks so much. Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-12-2016 Hi Harry, Sorry, but you're asking the wrong person for help with the electronics. I always ask someone else to wire my layouts, since I don't enjoy that aspect of the hobby. I just bought my first DCC system to make things easier, but I still haven't installed it yet. Take care, Rob. Re: Free Layout Design Help - Canadian Atlantic Railway - 11-12-2016 Hey Rob, I'm ready again. Do you want to work in this thread or for me to start a new one? Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-12-2016 You can either start a new one, or we can do it by email. Your choice. Re: Free Layout Design Help - Canadian Atlantic Railway - 11-12-2016 Email incoming. Re: Free Layout Design Help - railroader9731 - 11-12-2016 Hi Rob and no not the electric part of it. Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-13-2016 Hi Harry, You threw me off when you said "what radios needed and where they need to be" ... I wasn't really sure why you were talking about radios. I will get the radius info to you in a bit. Take care, Rob. Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-13-2016 The radius info: Re: Free Layout Design Help - train_guy - 11-13-2016 Hi Rob,I know it's been awhile since i last posted.I've been working alot of overtime lately and haven't had the time to do much of anything. How ever i did come across this https://www.trainzportal.com/blog/view/ ... ailroading and think something like this will be more suited to my needs when it comes to designing my train layout, although it officially won't be released till December 4th.Also the objects, textures for this program will be almost limitless.I just hope my PC can handle the graphics of this program.I believe this program will allow me to see exactly what my Model Railroad will look like before i even build it in a Virtual world so to speak. Thanks for your help Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-13-2016 Hi Don, Good luck with the design of your layout. I will be waiting to see your progress. Take care, Rob. Re: Free Layout Design Help - railroader9731 - 11-13-2016 Ok Rob I take most of this is flex track laid? Re: Free Layout Design Help - dingbat - 11-13-2016 HI Harry, Actually, all of it is flex track since I don't use sectional track for my designs. Take care, Rob. Re: Free Layout Design Help - railroader9731 - 11-13-2016 Ah that I was not aware of That is one of my weaker points is radius with flex track |
