Just a sidebar - around here, it's not uncommon to see 6-axle power used on locals. CN uses SD40-2s and Dash 8s to switch Plainfield as well as repainted IC geeps. So if you ever want to use your big power for switching, there are proto examples.

Not much work has been done on the layout but did some scenery work around the industrial tracks.

NS and CSX does the same and both railroads has dozens of GP38-2/GP40-2 or MP15s that could easily handle the work.
