Frank, Here is an ad for a 1949 American Flyer set...was it this one?[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

I was on the receiving end of this set in 1949[ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND]

I sold it in 1955 so I could get some "real" model trains. Sure wish I had it, or even the "real" American Flyer Comet passenger set that replaced it.

Sorry I missed your reply, been rather busy. No the AF train set had a Pacific that was more conventional looking w/smoke and the boxcar was a cattle car, The Katy. Now back to ''Chiberia'' Chgo's new winter ''nickname''. Cheers
