Thanks for posting this, Don. You are probably right about the closest railroad being Clarkdale, at least by road. To the north, the Navajo Army base used to have an extensive railroad system, but I do not know how much still operates. That may be closer as the crow flies. Formerly, there were logging railroads in the Munds Park areas, and I think those too would have been closer as the crow flies. I don't think any of the lines that made it into the Verde Valley area ever made it further east than Clarkdale.
