Gone Fishing.

The sad part is a lousey 3 pound carp almost wore me out in our short battle royal!

It could have been worse. I remember at about ten years of age . . . I helped my Dad make some repairs to a "Sport Fishing Boat". His payment for the engine work, was a day on the Ocean, off Montauk Point, fishing. I was invited along, and managed to hook a fairly large Blue Marlin.
After several hours fight ( I refused to give up ) the line went almost slack, and I reeled in my catch. The head of a fairly large Blue Marlin. . . the rest of it had been bitten off by, according to the boat owner, a "rather large shark".
I have never gone "sport fishing" again, and I can still remember all too clearly, how many days I ached, after the several hours of trying to land a fish, that outweighed me by a hundred, or more, pounds.
All things considered though, I still miss the salt water.
We always learn far more from our own mistakes, than we will ever learn from another's advice.
The greatest place to live life, is on the sharp leading edge of a learning curve.
Lead me not into temptation.....I can find it myself!
