It looks like the best bet for now is the Walthers/Boley roll-on roll-off dumpster:
   
This is readily available and reasonably priced. Walthers also offers the dumpsters separately in 3-packs. As it comes, it seems to be a model of a 40 cubic yard capacity, which is typically used for demo and renovation -- in my neighborhood, if people are putting in new this and that, this size is used to haul away the old carpet, floors, lath, drywall, whatever.

There are lots of sizes, paint schemes, and weathering. I think the Walthers dumpsters could be cut down for other sizes. I'm noticing that they often get stored along rail rights of way, so they're a potential scenery item as well as part of an industry. This photo was taken from a train window:
