I've only just skimmed through the replies here. I model British 00 steam era. I've now bought 3 locos from Model Railway Imports in St. Catharines & have had good service and prices.
I have two 00/HO layouts and am generally trying to model the famous Somerset & Dorset line in the 1950s/60s, although I also occasionally run it in a prewar mode. I also like to run LMS and LNER stock when the mood hits!
