Tinkering with 2 small layouts
#17
Over the past two weeks, I've had a lot of success resolving the derailment problems on my larger layout. I basically took a lot of time to carefully re-lay any problematic track, trying very hard to ensure that the track is level and flat. There are still 1-2 minor problems in the track but overall my locos and rolling stock are running very well and (during the past 7-10 days) hardly ever get any derailments! Goldth Smile

Now that the track issues seem to be fixed, I've been able to get back to improving and refreshing various bits of scenery on the layout. Maybe I'll post some pics in a few days.

I'll also have to get back to the smaller (3x4) layout. I've bought several items for it that are just sitting around, waiting to be added -- a British telephone box, trees, buffer stops for sidings, wood and card for a wall ... As mentioned, it works very well but I'm still considering enlarging it slightly.

In any case, it needs more progress as I've only done about 1/3 of its scenery and have even removed some of its track (which was used on the larger layout). I might tackle this in June when I expect to have some extra time.

Thanks,
Rob
